Dr. Doom

Third attempt at a book 'review', and, as usual, I read the book about the time of my last post, four months ago. From what I barely remember: Danny 'Dr. Doom' Breckinridge, a former sixties folk-rocker reinvented as a more transgressive glam/Kiss rocker for the 70s, receives some pre-concert death threats. Intrepid high-school rock reporter Larry Small, who aspires to write for Rolling Stone, god help him, is onto an obviously career-making story as the threats appear to be real! Along the way we meet various cyphers such as Idiot Sheriff, Eccentric Old Newsman, Would-Be Girlfriend. To be entirely fair, the book is aimed, I think, at the teen market, who deserved better.

The bassist did it.
